Demi Moore Bush Pic

It may come to haunt Demi...supposedly a photo of Demi Moore's Bush is the hottest search term on the internet today. Amazing how the things we do as a youth come back to haunt us when we become respectable adults. I saw the pic of Demi Moore Bush and it looks a little photo-shopped to me.

Demi Moore Pictures, Images and Photos

But it brings me to the power of keywords and the power to trends. Finding out what is hot, what is a hot trend can bring you a lot of traffic. Demi Moore Bush is the number two searched for topic on Google trends today. And this picture of Demi Moore Bush supposedly came out in the 80s.

I guess Demi Moore Bush is pretty hot compared to Megan Fox. They say you should put a pretty picture of a woman or half naked woman on your blog to get traffic. Okay, so here goes, here is the picture...you know you want to see it.

But this is just a cheap attempt to get traffic. Nothing really to say today.

Pay Per Post Has Arrived and is Live!

It's back...for those of you who missed or wondered what happened to Pay Per Post, well wonder no more.
PayPerPost v4.0 has resurfaced better than ever.

Over the past few months, many bloggers have questioned whether IZEA was going to destroy Pay Per Post? Even the quality of post advertisers had diminished. The old Pay Per Post had turned into an online waste land and bloggers were running away from the once highly regarded site in legions.

Being associated with PayPerPost was like having a scarlet letter on your blog. NO one wanted to be known as a blogger with a sponsored post from them on their site. You still have to disclose within the sponsored posts, however, that's only fair, don't you think?

Now, the site has reinvented itself, and is inviting good writers back. Pay Per Post wants to show you something new. They want to show you that it is not a black mark on your blog to write for them.

So go back to them, check out the new PayPerPost, oh and they have even simplifed the entire process of adding additional blogs and getting them approved. So, spread the word, tell everyone that you know, that Pay Per Post has returned with a vengeance!

Looking For Home Business Gold Nuggets?

If you're reading this blog, it means you're looking for a way to help you make money from home. You're hoping that you'll discover some nugget of information that will unlock the door to home business success riches.

Well you can stop right there...

There isn't a single gold nugget that will take you to home business success. In fact, it takes many nuggets joined together to give you consistent home business success. Here are a couple of fun and very engaging marketing nuggets that make promoting your home business a success.

  1. Twitter -- By now you've heard of it, probably tried it; yet you can't understand what all the fuss is about. You wonder, why would anyone care what you're doing?
Think of Twitter as sending an interesting text message to all your cell phone contacts. We've all received and sent joke texts, Bible scripture texts, and funny pictures on our cell phones before.

Twitter is used the same way except now your contact list is global and all these contacts are 'following' or befriending you because what you say is interesting.

Think of Twitter as a pool part at Jamie Foxx' crib and there are lots of cool folks there. And guess what? You're one of the cool people! So in 140 characters or less (text message size), you get to tell your global connections whats on your mind.

Many times I tweet about breaking news, offbeat weird news, and of course the articles that I Digg. Twitter can be an extension of your marketing and promotion campaign. People like the messages I tweet, and they often Retweet (RT) them as well. Retweet (RT) is the act of your followers resending your tweets to even more followers. Viral marketing at its best.

Warning: Twitter is very addictive!

I installed TweetDeck on my PC and I use the TwitterBerry App on my Blackberry. Both these tools keep me tweeting quickly and efficiently.

TweetDeck is a software I added that easily lets me see which of my followers are most active, along with what are the popular trending topics of the moment. TweetDeck is a powerful tool duplication tool that helps you get more followers and leads.

Remember, social networking is a two way street. Recognize your followers weekly by using #followfriday, or any other method of saying thank you. This creates a conversational tone that will earn you a reputation as being responsive and credible.

In the next post, I'll share another social media gem: How to mine for gold nuggets using Facebook.

31 Days To Build A Better Blog: I'm Participating

Because I know that anything can be improved, I decided to take ProBlogger's challenge: 31 Days To Build A Better Blog.

Here’s what the project involves

Every day for 31 days I will send you a short email with a link to an post. The post will contain two things:

  1. A task for the day
  2. Some brief teaching to help you implement the task

The idea is simple. By the end of the 31 days you’ll have learned 31 aspects of blogging and put them into practice. It is designed not only to fill your head with knowledge ABOUT blogging but give you some concrete things to do to actually DO something with the knowledge.

According to the statistics, there are over 9100 bloggers participating, all hoping to gain more knowledge and expertise from one of the top bloggers on the internet today, Darren Rowse.

In case you are not familiar with Darren, he started blogging in 2002, way before it became the 'thing' to do. He began writing about pop culture, issues, and other things that interested him. As he states on his About page:

" I learnt(sic) so much from the experience of that blog that I’ve since started many other blogs."

His passion for blogging went from a part time job, then a hobby, to currently a full fledged business. Needless to say, he earns a living from blogging.

Darren's blog, ProBlogger, was one of the first professional blogs I began following. Mainly because I adored his style of writing, as well as his willingness to share his knowledge with his readers. There are often complaints about pro-bloggers as being untouchable, or unresponsive.
Not Darren. His 31 Days To Build A Better Blog is evidence of that. He's giving a blogger like myself an opportunity to grow and obtain the same greatness he has obtained, for no charge.

Yeah, it's free folks.

The first day of the challenge was to write a 100-150 word 'elevator speech.' I knew what an elevator speech was, having perfected it when I was an account manager in radio. So I figured, it would be simple to accomplish for a blog.

Not so.

The difference is, I have to talk about what my blog is about. And when I remembered when I first started my blog, I realized, I have strayed. This is a good wake up call.

I won't share my elevator speech here, only give you a couple of hints in the form of bullet points:

  • HBS blog is about sharing with my readers the same tools I use to make money online. Ranging from how I build my list, to lead generation and why having a responsive list is the key to financial success. In addition, I provide tips on CPA program success, and which ones of those programs pay well and how I make my money using them. HBS is all about making money online using repetition, persistence and social networking skills.
I'm actually a couple of assignments behind, I've been Digging and Tweeting far too long today...gotta run, I don't want to miss out!

Keep up with me in my quest to build a better blog right here on Home Business Success (HBS).

Affiliate Traffic Explained - A Simple Guide

This is an article to give you a simple guide on how to get affiliate traffic as an affiliate marketer. It’s also my answer to one of our members’ question below:

“I have been trying to do internet marketing for some client but I have not succeeded. This is by being sales representative of this company and I be paid for every customer who sign up and pay. My problem is that I don’t know how to go about it. Please help me and show me how to do it.” - Susan

Hi Susan, what you’re doing is just a form of affiliate marketing.

In your case, your probably have a personal arrangement with your client instead of through an affiliate network such as ClickBank. But the idea of getting affiliate traffic is essentially the same.

Successful affiliates either own the customers (usually because they already have a high traffic website) or they know where to find the customers (usually through search engines or online advertising).

Understanding this fact, your job of finding affiliate traffic is now simplified.

Either…

1) you build niche websites to attract targeted traffic for the product you’re promoting, or

2) you get traffic through search engine optimization and online advertisements such as Adwords.

Each of these is a huge topic by itself. My job is to point you to the right direction. You have to find out the details. (More details can be found in LeadsLeap blog.)

1) Build your niche websites

As an affiliate, your long term goal is to ‘own’ the traffic. You don’t want to keep advertising and sent traffic to your affiliated site.

When I say ‘own’ the traffic, what I mean is creating your own content website, service website or blog, and building your own list.

Yes, it’s much harder than simply posting an advertisement and making a commission straight away. But it’s a business that can potentially grow exponentially and provide you with a nice passive income in the long run.

Building your own niche empire requires long term commitment from you. It’s not a quick fix. But it’s important.

If you want a quick fix, read on……

2) Advertise

Let’s say you are helping your client to sell an apartment in Denver. You can do some keyword research and post some Adwords ads to get potential buyers.

For low competitive keywords, you can leverage on Web 2.0 sites to get top ranking in the natural search results. This will save you some money.

You may also want to advertise in various online and offline property directories.

For some products, you can also generate affiliate traffic through article marketing, a.k.a. bum marketing.

As I said in my previous blog post, the key is to find targeted affiliate traffic.

Final words….

Last but not least, I want to instill into you the idea of passive and fresh traffic. Passive traffic are regular traffic to your website. They can be people on your list or your blog patrons. Fresh traffic are new traffic from advertising, search engines or other means.

You must make it a goal to create a system that builds both passive and fresh traffic. This will give you long term success as an affiliate marketer. Once your system is up and running, you will not have to worry about affiliate traffic all the time.

Writing Title, Keyword And Description Tag For SEO

“I would like to ask a question about SEO. How do you write proper title, keyword, description tag for a website. Can you provide some examples of how to write a proper one?” - Kelvin Tan

Hi Kelvin,

There are two considerations in writing those tags. The first one is the SEO aspect and the second one is the marketing aspect. I’ll cover both of them in this reply.

1) The technical aspect of writing SEO friendly title, keyword and description tags

For the beginners, let me show you where to find the title, keyword and description tags in a typical html code.

Title tag - ….
Keyword tag -
Description tag -

Search engines now place little importance to keyword and description tag. But as a good practice, it’s always good to include the keyword phrase in the keyword and description tags.

For example, if I’m trying to optimize a page for “debt reduction strategies”, my keyword and description tags will be as follow:

Keyword tag -
Description tag -

Technically speaking, you can put any ‘meat’ to fill the rest of the description tag. For me, I simply use the first sentence of my article as the description tag, since the first sentence of my article will always consist of the keyword phrase (another good SEO practice).

In SEO, what is more important is the title tag.

Technically, your title tag should try to meet the following requirements:

i) Your title tag must have the ‘exact’ keyword phrase in it.

I don’t have to explain this one, do I?

ii) Your title tag should preferably be as short as possible.

There is such a thing called keyword dilution in SEO. It means if there are too many words in your title, the importance of your main keyword phrase will be ‘diluted’ in the eyes of the search engines. So try to keep your title short.

To illustrate, if my keyword phrase is “debt reduction strategies”, some examples of a good title include

- Debt Reduction Strategies
- 7 Debt Reduction Strategies
- Pitfalls and Traps of Debt Reduction Strategies
- Creative Debt Reduction Strategies

I didn’t think of these titles. These are the top 4 titles returned by Google search.

2) The marketing aspect of writing the title tag

Your title tag is very important, not only for SEO but also for human.

Why?

Because when someone does a search, he/she will first see the title in the search result.

Therefore, when writing a title, besides making sure that it fulfills the SEO requirements, you also have to do your best to write something that can entice people to click.

This is the marketing aspect of writing a good title tag, something that is hard to teach my freelance writers. :(

Notes On Description Tag

Search engines will show your description tag as the description in the search result. (Thanks to our member Proson for pointing this out.)

This means if you want to perfect a page, you should try to write something enticing in your description tag as well.

For me, I usually don’t bother. I only make sure that the exact keyword phrase is present in the description tag. That will be enough for SEO purpose.

A Fatal Mistake That Internet Marketing Newbies Make

There is one fatal mistake that internet marketing newbies make, that is, trying to make money online.

I’m not trying to be a wet blanket here. I simply want to highlight to you the way Nature works.

Let me share with you a little story:

Recently I was trying to teach my nephew swimming because he told me that he was very interested in learning it.

For those of you who have learnt swimming, you know that before you can swim, you have to learn many things like how to kick your legs, how to blow bubbles in the water etc.

When I taught my nephew how to kick his legs, he tried it for a while and then ask, “I know how to kick now, but why I still can’t swim.” Throughout the session, while learning how to swim, he kept asking me why he still can’t swim.

My nephew is 7 years old. His reaction towards learning how to swim reminds me of many internet marketing newbies.

Many newbies are eager to learn how to make money online. Whenever they learn something, they want to see the money immediately.

The attachment to making money online is often the seed of failure.

Learning to make money online is similar to learning anything else. One should first master the basics.

When the basics are mastered, making money online is just a natural outcome.

This is how the Nature works. If you can recall how you successfully learned a skill, any skill, you’ll agree with what I say.

So what are the basics in internet marketing?

Too many.

Common basics include:

- search engine optimization;
- how to write ads;
- website creation and many more.

You don’t have to learn everything. But you must understand that the more basics you learn, the more money you can make online.

When I first started, I knew nothing about html, SEO or sales letter writing. Like many newbies, I was reading gurus’ newsletters, buying ebooks and courses. Nothing worked for me until I stopped thinking about making money and started learning like a student.

Remember the time when you were schooling? Having to ’swallow’ those lengthy and boring words and make sense out of them? And trying to understand those technical jargons that look alien to you?

That’s what I mean by learning like a student.

If you are simply reading a “how to make money” ebook as if you are reading a novel, you are not really learning like a student. You are merely entertaining yourself.

I know. It’s hard to be convinced that you will make money online if you simply focus on mastering the basics of internet marketing. Just like my nephew who can’t see how learning to kick can eventually make him swim.

But that’s how Nature works.

When the basics are mastered, making money online is just a natural outcome.

How To Write Text Ads That People Will Click

Guest Post by By Kenneth Koh

This is not the first time I get members asking me how to write text ads. There is a simple formula that I use to write text ad or almost any other types of ads. Today, I’ll share this formula with you.

My Simple Formula To Write Text Ad

Writing text ad is an art. Different marketers have different style of writing.

For me, I follow a simple formula. My formula is:

A-E-A

A - Attention
E - Expectation
A - Action

Most text ads are made up of a headline (or title) and a text body.

The objective of the headline is to grab Attention.

The objective of the text body is to build Expectation and call to Action.

For example, I may write an ad like this:

I Made $6K in my First Month
Learn Exactly How I Did It.
Free Download.

Can you see how I use the A-E-A formula in this example?

How To Write Attention Grabbing Headline Or Title?

There are many ways to write a headline or title that grabs attention.

For example, you can ask a question that invokes curiosity. You can also tell a story like I did in the example above.

One simple way is to use some power words that can capture people’s attention.

Some of these power words include: How To, Secrets, Free, Download, Exposed, Save, Amazing, Time-Sensitive, Proven, Step-By-Step, Shocking Truth, Cheap, Urgent.

Why Build Expectation?

Once you grab the prospects’ attention, you need to tell your prospects what they can expect from you after clicking your ad.

This is the hardest part and if it’s done right, 90% of the battle is won.

To build an expectation is to create a desire. As you know, once a person has a strong desire for something, he can do anything to satisfy that desire.

In this case, once you successfully build an expectation, your prospects will be motivated to click on your text ad to get what they’re expecting.

Again, there are some power words you can use to build expectation. These words include: Learn, Discover, Find Out, Increase, Reduce, Eliminate, Save, Loss, Gain, Heal, Change, Transform.

Call To Action - The Final Push

Many marketers put too much emphasis in the call to action. My view is, the most important element is Expectation building. Once the expectation is built, call to action is simply a final push.

Call to action is for the subconscious. What I mean is subconsciously, our hand react to some words.

For example: Click Here, Download Here, Instant Access, Start Here, Get It Now, Buy Now, Watch It Here, and … (i.e. ending your ad with …)

Anyone Can Write A Text Ad Like A Guru

No one is born an ad writing guru. Every ad writing guru I know has a habit of keeping a library of ads that they think is good.

Whenever you come across a good ad, keep it and refer to your collection whenever you need to write an ad. It’s just a matter of time before you become another expert in writing text ad.

8 Ways To Twitter Power

Twitter is quickly becoming the micro-blogging tool of choice by social network users. You can tweet from your laptop, desktop or mobile smartphone. Its a convenient, easy fun method of answering the question, "What are you doing?"

I first got caught up with Twitter about 11 months ago. A friend of mine suggested it to me, and I must admit, I wasn't that impressed with it at first. It seemed to be a mindless question that couldn't possibly generate additional conversation.

But, that was before I really began to understand the genesis of the question. Its not just about "what are you doing," but more what interesting is going on in the world around you and how are you interacting with those things. That's where conversations are borne and grow.

Twitter is communication with individuals who want to engage with your thoughts or you with their thoughts. Having a lot of followers is perceived as having Twitter Power.

Since Twitter Power is something you want and may not have, here are 8 ways to get more Twitter Power:

  1. Engage in conversations with people. Don't just offer mindless banter, tweet stuff that makes sense and show a slice of your personality.
  2. Read other twitterers tweets (try saying that 10 times real fast!)-- learn from the best, and mimic their behavior and not their content. Don't try to reinvent the wheel, learn from the successful wheels already in place.
  3. Use an awesome desktop application like TweetDeck. Some say that TweetDeck is the most powerful Twitter applications available. Think of it as Twitter pimped out and on steroids. Click here for a great tutorial on using TweetDeck to its full capacity.
  4. Recently I stumbled upon Mr. Tweet. Mr. Tweet is a fine Twitter tool that recommends followers to you, who you should be following relevant to your profile information and who is following you. Mr. Tweet will generally recommend 237 new followers per week that are relevant to your niche. Check it out here.
  5. Another good tool to use if Mr. Tweet intimidates you, is Twhirl. Twhirl also allows you to post pics using Twitpic as well as you can search retweets within to determine what is resonating with your followers. What is on their minds. This is a free Firefox add-on.
  6. If you are into add-ons, then just install the Firefox TwitterBar add-on and post tweets directily from your address search bar. You can tweet and surf just as you would use the StumbleUpon toolbar. A quick and easy way to post tweets.
  7. I also use Twitpic and post photos from my mobile phone. Suppose I'm out somewhere and I see something absolutely fabulous? I can use Twitpic to post to my phone in a matter of seconds.
  8. Integrate your web life with Twitter. If you intend to make Twitter a prominent piece of your internet marketing agenda, then you should place Twitter follow links on your page. It makes sense, and is a great way to passively gain more Twitter followers.

How to Motivate Your Team

Today's guest post is by Derek Brown. Derek is the creator of "If Not This Then What."

I have learned a lot about network marketing over the years, but one of the most important things that I’ve learned is motivation comes from within. Oh boy! I know you didn’t want to read that after you read the title but it’s the absolute truth. The only thing you can do to motivate your team is find out what they really want and show them how you can help them get it. If you don’t know why they are doing the business you can’t do anything to help them. Further more, if you don’t know why you are really doing the business (outside of you want a little extra money) you're not going to be of much help.

Now that everyone who don’t want to be helped have stopped reading we can talk frankly. If you can’t go within you – you are going to have to go without. Let me tell you a short story to prove that statement.

A man was about to go on a road trip in his brand new car. He packed everything he thought he needed for the trip. He grabbed his suitcases and was on his way out the door when he dropped his car keys. The moment he bent down to get the keys he kicked them away. He went to pick them up and the power in his house went out. The man searched for the keys for a little while when he decided not to look around in the dark anymore. He noticed the streetlights were still on outside so he decided to go outside to look for his keys. (smile) He kicked around under the lights for a few minutes until his friend John saw him. He asked his friend to help him find his keys. He and his friend looked around for a while until John got smart and asked where did you drop the keys? He said in the house but it’s dark in there. (smile)

The moral of the story is, if you can’t find what you need inside, you won’t find it outside either. Many people think it’s the company that they are in that’s keeping them from their financial dreams. The same compensation plan they fell head over hills about, is working for other people but not them.

Why?

Because it’s not about your comp. plan, product or service, it’s about you. Things won’t get better until you get better. So find some people who have the income you want in the industry your in, study what they are doing and do it. Don’t keep going from company to company only to get the same results. Things get better when you get better. TAKE ACTION NOW! That’s how you motivate your team because you are your best teammate.

How To Make Money With Facebook 35-54

In the last post, I talked about grabbing a portion of Facebook users to market to. I also told you which was the fastest growing demographic segment on Facebook. Using that knowledge, let's look at some products that might appeal to the 35-54 year old demographic that is comprised of 57% women and 42% men.

Looking at the way a 35-54 year old would be living; has a home, could be renting in today's economy or owns the home and may be struggling to pay the bills that the family resides in. The paycheck today does not do what it once did. Medical bills seem to be increasing, and it becomes a struggle sometimes to pay all the bills on time.

Some are still working, others are seeking options to change careers. This demographic is on Facebook reconnecting with old friends, former co-workers, families and networking. It's the new way to meet people who may further business or personal relationships, and Facebook is providing this service.

Loaded with this valuable marketing information, you should be able to put a product or service that will appeal to this target audience on Facebook. I came up with this product for that age segment. (see the banner below) Tell me what you think of my product. Will I hit the target 35-54 audience with this offer and convert well, or will or sink? Let me know by leaving a comment below.

And by the way, if you want to hear what I sound like, listen to my new Utter...click the audio player below to hear Teasas Tips!

What Is The Most Effective Online Advertising?

To easily receive updates on new articles subscribe to Home Business Success today.

Here is a guest post from Kenneth Koh from Leads Leap....

So, what is the most effective online advertising? Is it banner advertising? Is it social networking? Or could it be LeadsLeap advertising?

My answer is - none of them!

The most effective online advertising is not about the advertising tool or media that you use, but how you use them.

For example, some people say that banner advertising is not effective because people are ‘banner blind’ nowadays. I disagree. To illustrate, some of you may know that I’m crazy about link building for SEO. So whenever I come across a banner ad about new ways to build backlinks, I’ll click on the banner to find out more.

From this illustration, you can see that the key here is not about the tool or media that you use to advertise. The key here is whether you are advertising to the right target audience.

That brings me to an important conclusion:

“The most effective online advertising is one that is the most targeted.”

Some Web 2.0 gurus nowadays keep touting about how they can get tons of traffic and make money through social networking. It may be true for them. But you must understand that many of them are selling products teaching people how to make money through social networking. So their products will appeal to many social networkers.

On the other hand, if you are selling a niche product, spending hours a day in Facebook or Myspace may be a waste of your time.

I’m not saying social networking is ineffective. But you need to find the correct social networks for your niche.

For example, if you are in the “Make Money Online” niche, you can participate in social networking sites for internet marketers like this one.

Some new members ask me what kind of ad they should put up in their LeadsLeap account. What is your answer?

LeadsLeap provides a free online advertising platform for internet marketers. We generate fresh traffic through our blog (the blog you’re reading now), and our blog discusses about internet marketing stuff. This means our traffic are people interested in internet marketing and online advertising. Knowing the profile of our traffic, what do you think would be the best ad to advertise? It’s definitely not some Jewelery Offers or Sports Shoe Sale!

In conclusion, the most effective online advertising can be achieved through highly targeted advertising solutions. The challenge is to identify the right places where you can find your potential customers. Once you identify these places, you can use all the advertising tools available to direct the traffic from those places to your website.

Taking Affiliate Marketing To The Next Level

To easily receive updates on new articles subscribe to Home Business Success today.

The start of the New Year always brings about bright and shining moments. Moments that breed money making ideas. For me, I plan on sharpening my affiliate marketing skills. In the past I have made $128 - $300 a day using CPA networks. My goal is to take these earnings to the next level and break the $20K a month barrier.

Breaking $20K a month is very possible, as I just joined a private affiliate forum that shares the secrets I need to make $20K a month a reality.

CPA networks aren't the only way I earn a living. We all know that having multiple streams of income keeps you from relying on just one source. My other income plan is by utilizing safelist advertising.

Safelist advertising allows me to send my sales messages six times a day, to 7800 members daily. From past experience in radio ad sales, I know that consumers need to hear a message at least 6 times in order to buy. Online advertising is a little different. I believe it takes 9 times in order to convert a click into a sale. On the first day my ad ran, a total of 46,800 members viewed it; and I received 69 clicks. That's a little under 0.74% CTR.

This week I am going at it hard by submitting ads daily, six times per day. Let's see what the conversion to sales rate is by next week.

I'll let you know...I use adtactics safelist in case you are looking for a responsive, credit based safelist...

Viral Networks Make Video Blogging Simple

ViralNetworks

I've been looking for a way to share all of my blogging posts with you so it is both informative and entertaining.

One option is video blogging. It would be fun and exciting for me. I could spice up my marketability that way. Hmmm...

If I just keep tweeting, stumbling and Facebook-ing daily, then I can drum up support that way too. But, I want a little more - I want to TweetStumbleFacebook all in one!

I'm thinking Viral Networks is the place to be. You can upload videos - a la YouTube for most categories. Viral Networks is an exploding way to grow your friend base. There are free and paid memberships. My friend John Sullivan picks winners and he turned me on to this one.

Anyway, if I video blog, uploading daily videos may cause slow page load. That would require a financial investment in order to fix. No thanks, I have enough monthly commitments. Viral Networks can solve my video problems. I signed up for it and will produce my first video sometime in February. I'll keep you informed of my big debut.

Growing A Blog Takes Work

To easily receive updates on new articles subscribe to Home Business Success today.

Doing certain things the same way everyday will increase your Page Rank in Google, if that's what you're after. Commenting on other relevant blogs is a sure way to build relationships and back links. My goal for '09 is to spend more time commenting, and reading relevant blogs.

When comments are left on your blog, reply as soon as you can. Readers like a responsive blogger, and it lets them know that someone is reading their opinions.

Much of my traffic (86%) was from referral according to my analytics report. That's great! Word of mouth is the best form of advertising one can receive. It's like planting seeds in the spring, if you plant the seeds, tend to them, then they will blossom. That's how relationships grow online, and they take time.

Keeping your focus within your blog posts helps a lot too. When the search spiders crawl through your blog, they are looking for references to the keywords you have chosen as well as references to your description of your blog. Staying on topic makes the reader feel engaged as if you are really addressing their concerns. Remaining topic focused creates credibility in the eyes of the search engines.

Connect with other bloggers - reach out to them and offer to guest post. Guest posting is a great way to cross pollinate each others' traffic.

I discovered that by focusing on one or two social networks will get you traffic, sticky traffic. Concentrate on one or two of the major social networks like Twitter or StumbleUpon and use this traffic as a behavioral traffic magnet. Traffic that is attracted to your blog because the reader has something in common with your information.

I remained true to all of these things from August 26, 2008 until December 31, 2008, I earned a PR2, have 986 inbound backlinks, and an Alexa ranking of 325,000+. My technorati is a 10 and I have been faved in Blog Carnival of Making Money Online several times.

Remaining consistent and determined will get you to the finish line. Now, I'm going to double my efforts using the same strategy. We'll look back at this blog's health in March, the month of my birthday.

The good thing about doing these things, is if you just repeat the process that is already successful, then you can be successful as well. All you have to do is follow instructions and give it time to work.

Making Money Online Changes Focus

To easily receive updates on new articles subscribe to Home Business Success today.

I am miserable because I have limited internet access. That being said, my time online has diminished, and for all of you who have been trying to contact me, I apologize for not getting back to you in a timely manner.

Well, Happy Belated New Year! If you are a fellow blogger reading this, then a new year means excitement for opportunity. It just seems that all of the things I began blogging about in 2007 became a reality in 2008.

Mainly, Home Business Success (HBS) is a blog about ways to make money online and the tools I use to do it. Of course, being able to work from home 7 days a week while my affiliate programs make money from me, did not happen overnight. Actually, I've been doing internet marketing wrong since 1999.

For me, it was more than an urban legend, making money online. I had experienced limited success with a couple of products, and I was hooked. I knew I could make money online and become independently wealthy if only I knew how. Knowing how, learning to make money online became my passion.

So, I studied, read, researched and kept up with the changing trends in internet marketing. Including search engine marketing and social networking. As a result of social networking, I discovered CPA networks and met someone who taught me how to make a legitimate home based business income using CPA networks. My first affiliate check from a CPA network arrived at my house on the 15th of September.

It was from Market Leverage. I was excited to open it because Market Leverage uses FedEx, and it's like receiving a gift from Santa when the FedEx truck pulls up to my house. After getting my first check, I was determined I wanted more, I wanted my earnings to increase.

In focusing on making money, I also started this blog in August 2008. My goals were niche minded, make money online (MMO) with very little paid advertising posts. I've kept my focus and on January 1st, Google rewarded Home Business Success with a PR2! For me, that's wonderful growth of a baby blog. However, from what I've read, PR ain't what it used to be, relationship building is where its at...

My focus for 2009 will be about relationships. I am friends with so many people in different niche social networks, I sometimes wish there was a way to combine all of my friends from each network and gather them in one central location. That would be so efficient.

Another focus I'll concentrate on this year is email marketing. Right now I'm using safelists as my training module. I've upgraded on a very responsive one (according to the weekly safelists report) and have a Business Opportunity campaign running. As soon as I see some results I'll share them with you.

Making money online is about learning, and keeping up with the latest trends and information about the industry. You must spend as much time learning about what you are doing, as you do creating, and writing for your blog. Writing blog posts is just one part of blogging; actually it's a small part. The big part is promoting and marketing your accomplishments.

3 Reasons Why Adsense Is Essential For Content Sites

To easily receive updates on new articles subscribe to Home Business Success today.

To know why Adsense is
essential for your content sites is to know first how this works.

The concept is really simple, if you think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.

The search engine is the one handling all the tracking and payments, providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive and targeted ads without having the hassle to solicit advertisers, collect funds, monitor the clicks and statistics which could be a time-consuming task in itself. It seems that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engine pulls the Adsense ads. Also webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused in making cash from these search engines.

The first reason why Adsense is essential for content sites is because it already has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of more advanced system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters are given the chance to choose from many different types of text ad formats to better complement their website and fit their webpage layout.

The different formatting enables the site owners the possibility of more click through from visitors who may or may not be aware of what they are clicking on. It can also appeal to the people visiting thus make them take that next step of looking up what it is all about. This way the people behind the Adsense will get their content read and making profit in the process.

The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels. The recent improvements in the search engines gives webmasters the capability to monitor how their ads are performing using customizable reports that has the capacity to detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Trends are also easily spotted.

With the real-time reporting at hand, the effectiveness of the changes made will be assessed quickly. There would be time to sort out the contents that people are making the most clicks on. The ever-changing demands would be met while generating cash for the webmasters and publishers. The more flexible tools are also allowing webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight on which pages, ads and domains are performing best.

The last and final reason is that the advertisers have realized the benefits associated having their ads served on targeted websites. Thus increasing the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product and services. All because of the content and its constant maintenance. As opposed to those who are no using Adsense in their sites, they are given the option of having other people do their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.

Adsense is all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is, the more target the search engines’ ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are focused more on their site contents and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best.

There was a time when people were not yet aware of the money to be achieved from advertisements. The cash generated only came into existence when the webmasters and publishers realized how they can make Adsense be that generator. In those days, the content were the most important factors that is taken quite seriously. It still is. With the allure of money, of course.

Top 5 Ways To Generate Low Cost Website Traffic

To easily receive updates on new articles subscribe to Home Business Success today.

There is one hard and fast rule in generating income for your website: A steady flow of website traffic. If no one goes to your site, it hardly bares a chance of generating an income. Many sites have tried and failed in doing so, and these results to the sites demise. It takes money to maintain an income generating site; it also takes money to make money.

BUT,
it doesn’t take a whole caboodle of cash to generate website traffic for your site.

Ever wonder how does big hit sites drive traffic top their site? Most of them are spending tons of money to drive the traffic to their sites, investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmickries (NEW WORD?). This is all worthwhile because, well, they are what they are now, high earning, big hitting websites.

You don’t have to do this if you don’t really have their resources. There are many ways to generate low cost website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it.

Here I present to you the Top five ways to generate low cost website traffic that could help your site a whole lot. Even if you only get a small percentage of successful visitors in to client ratio it still works especially if you get a high number of website traffic.

Exchange Links

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.

A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.

Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs.

Traffic Exchange

This is like exchanging links but on a different higher level. This may cost a bit more than exchanging or trading links but could be made cheaper because you get to earn credits. You can use those credits when viewing others traffic, while you earn credits when someone views yours.

Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another’s site or page. This is done vice versa where a site can use your sites contents and so can you to his or her site. You both benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic. The other sites visitors can go to your pages and know more about your site as well as theirs. Once again the public awareness of your sites existence is boosted.

(FYI: 10kHits4U is very good. It generates lots of traffic for this blog. Check my Feedjit Stats)

Write and Submit Articles

There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself.

Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.

Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.

(Ezine Articles is PR6 and a good source of low cost web traffic.)

Make a Newsletter

This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.

As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.

Join Online Communities and Forums

This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site.

Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.
